Environmental Considerations

Laminate uses HDF from wood fibres — typically from managed forestry with low environmental impact. LVT is PVC-based, derived from petrochemicals, though some brands now use recycled content. At end of life, laminate can be difficult to recycle due to its multi-layer construction, and LVT is rarely recycled in the UK. Neither option is as sustainable as natural wood or cork flooring.
