Scaffolding Hire Cost Calculator

Estimate facade scaffolding hire costs by elevation area, duration and access requirements

Length of the scaffolded elevation (building face). Length × Height = scaffolded area in m².

Height of the scaffolded elevation. Length × Height = scaffolded area in m².

UK contractors usually set a 6–8 week minimum hire term and bill in 4-week periods; weeks beyond the initial term are charged at the ongoing weekly rate.

How We Calculate This

Enter the facade scaffold type, the elevation length and height, and the hire duration in weeks. The calculator multiplies length × height to get the scaffolded area and applies indicative UK national-average rates for erection, ongoing weekly hire, and dismantling — these are estimates, not a quote. Adjust for the number of lifts and boarded lifts. Add optional extras like staircase towers, loading bays, brick guards, debris netting, and pavement licences. Inspection costs follow the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (intervals not exceeding 7 days) at your chosen frequency. Mobile alloy towers are hired at a flat weekly unit rate rather than by area, so they are not part of this elevation-area model.
