What is the standard waste percentage for bricks?

The industry standard waste factor for bricks is 5% for straightforward walling. This increases to 7-10% for complex designs with many cuts (curved walls, decorative bonds, or numerous openings). Always round up to the nearest full pack/pallet when ordering, as part-packs are rarely available and uneconomical.

Why is the waste factor for tiles higher than for bricks?

Tiles have a higher waste factor (10-15%) because they are more brittle, require more cutting around edges and obstacles, and diagonal layouts increase waste significantly.
