Heated Screed Commissioning Calculator — Drying & Ramp Schedule

Plan UFH commissioning schedule: initial drying time, temperature ramp (5°C/day), hold period and residual moisture targets.

Total screed depth over the pipes

Design flow temp (never exceed 55°C)

Site air temp; below 20°C lengthens drying

How We Calculate This

This calculator creates a commissioning schedule for underfloor heating in screeded floors, following industry best practice.

The schedule

  1. Initial drying period (no heating) — about 1 day/mm to the threshold, then 2 days/mm beyond
  2. Set flow to a maximum of 25°C and hold for 3 days (BS EN 1264-4 initial heating)
  3. Increase the flow by no more than 5°C per day to the design temperature
  4. Hold at the maximum operating temperature for about 7 days (minimum one week)
  5. Decrease by 5°C per day back to ambient (never exceed 55°C at any point)
  6. Test residual moisture before laying the finish
