Brick Pier Calculator — Bricks Per Course & Foundation Pad
Calculate bricks per course for 1, 1.5 and 2-brick piers, mortar and foundation pad concrete.
How We Calculate This
This calculator determines brick quantities, mortar and foundation pad sizing for brick piers of various sizes.
Brick count
Courses = ceil(Pier Height / (Brick Height + Joint))
Bricks per Pier = Courses × Bricks per Course × (1 + Wastage%)
1 brick pier = 4/course, 1.5 brick = 8/course, 2 brick = 12/course.
Foundation pad
Pad extends 100-150mm beyond pier on all sides. Depth typically 300mm of C25 concrete on compacted subsoil.
