Scaffold Load Class Calculator — Class 1-6 Selection
Determine the correct scaffold load class (1-6) for your trade use per BS EN 12811 and TG20. Checks platform loading, transom spacing, and board requirements.
Determines the required load class
Each board is 225mm wide. Min 3 for access, 5 for bricklaying
Distance between standards (1.8-2.7m typical)
Weight of materials stored on the platform
How We Calculate This
This calculator determines the scaffold load class needed for your trade, checking that the platform loading does not exceed the class limit per BS EN 12811-1 and TG20.
Load class selection
- Class 1 (0.75 kN/m²): Inspection, very light access
- Class 2 (1.5 kN/m²): Painting, decorating, plastering
- Class 3 (2.0 kN/m²): Bricklaying, rendering, cladding
- Class 4-6 (3.0-6.0 kN/m²): Heavy masonry, demolition, storage
